Air Travel Restarts at Scotland's Busiest Airport In the Wake of Substantial Air Traffic Control Outage

Passenger services have restarted at Scotland's primary international airport following a major ATC system failure halted all operations.

All aircraft movements were stopped after an systems problem that arose around 08:30.

A number of travelers were left waiting in planes on the runway during the disruption.

Operations Restart with Residual Impact

Officials announced at 10:40 that operations had restarted, and expressed gratitude to passengers for their "cooperation and patience".

However, significant disruption are anticipated to continue throughout the day. Flights to London Gatwick, Bristol, Amsterdam and Frankfurt have been axed, with a host of additional flights experiencing delays.

An airport representative had previously estimated that a significant number of movements could be impacted.

"Flyers are asked to get in touch with their carrier for the latest information on their individual travel plans," officials reiterated.

Officials linked the widespread suspension to an technical fault with its ATC service provider.
