Google Plans Investment of $15bn to Establish Artificial Intelligence Data Center in India
Alphabet, Google's holding company Alphabet Inc. is set to invest fifteen billion dollars to establish an AI data hub in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
The facility, which will be set up in the coastal city of the city of Visakhapatnam, is going to be a component of the worldwide network of Google of AI centres located in twelve different countries.
"This represents the biggest AI facility that we are committing funds to across the globe, excluding the US," Thomas Kurien stated at an conference in Delhi, the national capital this Tuesday, adding that the financial commitment will be allocated over the next five years.
The revelation arrives during a period US President Donald Trump has been encouraging American companies to focus on local funding.

The nation has become a key destination for AI data centres. The nation's affordable data pricing and quickly expanding internet user base have established it as a focal point for cloud and AI expansion for technology leaders.
"The facility will bring our industry-leading technology to enterprises and users in the country, speeding up artificial intelligence advancement and driving growth across the country," stated Alphabet's chief executive Sundar Pichai.
Specifics of the Project
A definitive arrangement to conclude the initiative will be signed this Tuesday, state authorities confirmed.
"It is a significant advancement for our state's technological advancement, progress, and worldwide position," remarked the state's technology minister Minister Nara Lokesh.
The project will merge AI and cloud systems with renewable energy systems and an enhanced optical fiber network.
Andhra Pradesh's Data Center Vision
The venture is part of the local administration's strategy to create six gigawatts of computing facility capacity by 2029.
Computing facilities are physical facilities that house the networking and computing devices that organizations use to collect, process, store, and distribute data.
