A premier asylum seeker has now been deported to France as part of the “one in, one out” arrangement struck among the UK and French administrations.

This man departed in the early hours and the aircraft has since touched down in France.

The individual hailed from India and flew on a flight operated by Air France in the morning.

This follows in the wake of the temporary suspension of the removal of a national of Eritrea on human trafficking grounds, which raised concerns that the immigration arrangement might be hindered by court appeals.
