The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Reveal Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering about PlayStation as a new development. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it is apparent that the green gaming company continues to plan to draw people in with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Current Inclusions
A pair of titles you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Upcoming Headline Games
Starting January 13th, the subscription service will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that refreshes typical Ubisoft design with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, is another one to watch. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. Yet, this selection are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they were due initially — transforming them into perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
